Can someone please explain why rape and SA is so normalized in yaoi and BL. It’s getting kind of annoying and some manhwas with really good plot (for example Codename Anastasia) are in my opinion ruined cause of rape and SA. Does anyone actually like it or are the authors just doing it to get attention.

I think most of the people who read BL manhwas like seeing non consensual acts. They like seeing the unhealthy power dynamic. I think some people are scared to admit it, but it's their fetish. The green flags manhwas out there are not this popular and I'm finally understanding why. It's not the lack of actual nice manhwas, but the hype and demand of non consensual "black flag" manhwas.
I always say BL/Yaoi is the dark Romance of Manhwa.
There a plenty of “fluffy” ones but nobody rads them or like them thats the reason you dont see them.
The darker ones have better Artstile and the comunity liks these kind of stuff, otherwise nobody would read it.

I honestly can’t give you an answer to that question. Maybe because the dark romance community has been growing or maybe it’s related to men being shown as “weak” or not as strong as it’s portrayed in social media.
All guesses from my side, as I personally read BL for the equality in the relationship: Their strengths match, they are equals.

True , it's really annoying and hurting to watch or to read, there's a lot of black flag comic this period ( •̀⤙•́ ) I always run back to our sunny days , the pizza delivery man and nerd project to heal what those other comic did to me ⊙︿⊙
Honestly I dont know its sometimes used as a plot device in the worst way other times it feels like a straight fetish stories like scammed and rammned that start off good and get ruined by sa later on most I can come up with is 3 things

i think it depends on the author tbh. some use it to make the plot darker or add drama while others js throw it in for shock value. n yeah, some ppl are into dark themes(js like i am muheheh), but theres a difference b/w showin SA as part of a dark storyline n romanticisin it like its normal. like not every story needs SA to make it interestin 😭
I think it's the most popular manhwas who have that trope. I used to read a lot of manhwas before it was popular in TikTok almost never read a rapey one.
That's bc many peaple like reading about it so authors put it in their stories whitout making it seem like a serious topic
