Codename Anastasia
If you haven't read Codename Anastasia yet, be prepared. It's not your soft college BL.
Plot:
Taekjoo Kwon is a top black ops agent for Korea. Cocky, skilled, never fails a mission. Until he gets sent to Russia to find "Anastasia" - a mysterious weapon.
Anastasia is not a weapon. It's a person. Codename Anastasia is Zhenya - a cold, terrifying, insanely strong Russian ex-soldier who everyone is afraid of.
Their first meeting is a disaster. Zhenya almost kills him. Taekjoo can't get the mission done without him. So they are forced to work together, and... yeah you know where it goes.
Why it's so popular:
- Zhenya. He's the whole manhwa. Tall, scarred, doesn't talk much, but is completely obsessed and possessive once he decides Taekjoo is his. Classic cold outside / soft for one person only.
- Taekjoo is not a pushover. He's also a trained killer. So it's not weak x strong, it's strong x stronger. Their fights turn into tension.
- The story is actually good. It's not just romance. There's real spy plot, betrayals, Russia/Korea politics. You keep reading for the mission too.
My thoughts:
Art is 10/10 - Boy Season's art is insane, especially Zhenya's eyes and the fight scenes.
It's a very intense, adult, possessive relationship. If you like toxic-to-devoted, enemies to lovers, agency BL - this is for you.
If you like soft fluffy BL, this is NOT it. This one is dark and obsessive.
Rating: 10:10
Question for readers: Are you team Zhenya or do you think Taekjoo or both ?And what chapter made you officially addicted?
