LGBT+ and hiding

The only people irl who know I read BL are my mom and this one girl I used to work with, lol. And even then, I've never really felt comfortable enough to tell them exactly what I'm reading or the types of stories I enjoy, haha. 😅 I don't really know why, but I think part of it has to do with the stigma surrounding BL and people who read it, or, like you mentioned, the societal prejudices that still exist. It's not necessarily that I'm ashamed of what I read, because I'm not. I just worry about how people might react or judge me for it irl, so I usually just prefer to keep that part of my interests to myself. Which is honestly fine, because there’s always a great online community. 💚

Well some of my friends know I read bls but they don't know I read like …those kinds of bls and I do hide it from. My parents cus once I made this fan art and should it to my mom and she was like why are two boys together? And she think LGBTQ is like yuky and shii
