Synopsis
June Noir is a dark, gritty psychological BL manhwa following Park Yoonseok, a former detective devastated by the murder of his lover. After executing vigilante revenge on the killer, Yoonseok becomes a broken tool for a corrupt prosecutor, taking on dangerous undercover assignments where he endures physical and sexual exploitation. His empty, suicidal existence shifts when he is hunted down by Baek Gitae, a sadistic gangster whose criminal empire Yoonseok previously helped destroy. Instead of killing the ex-detective, Gitae becomes intensely fascinated by Yoonseok’s total lack of a will to live. As Gitae’s twisted possessiveness grows, the lines quickly blur between trauma, revenge, and a dark, forbidden attraction.
Why Should We Pick This Up?
Love, Death- Life, Emotions, it has it all. a gritty thriller about a detective who has effectively lost his emotions, and is chained to the past meets with his rival, a carefree gangster, who becomes fascinated by the man whoms mind is so messed up, that none of his highly reserched (and affirmed) torture methods even seem to put him on wrong footing. Emotions are more like well thought out variables, and love is that which it used to be, and that which it no longer can become. And so, I dare you to find another manhwa, where one can feel the extreme surety of the emotions through the screen, quite exactly like this one.
