Synopsis

Why Should We Pick This Up?
In the first place, the manhwa Turning is an adaptation of a novel with over 1,000 chapters, and it’s still ongoing too.
It might seem like a lot, but because of its length, the worldbuilding, the characters, and their relationships with each other can be written in a very complex and beautiful way. Characters have time to develop and change in a natural way, and their relationships don’t feel forced or too fast-paced. The world builds on many different layers that are revealed slowly and yet steadily. The reader is constantly on edge, trying to figure out what is going on.
Now, I believe Turning deserves to be picked up for translation because of its pleasing art style, healthy relationship, and writing. Tons of BL and omegaverse stories exist, so having another one on the side certainly wouldn’t be bad. On top of that, the way the story uses the genre in unconventional ways is a great way to intrigue the reader.
Turning isn’t romance-focused (though romance does play a big role), but rather plot- and character-driven. Manhua and manhwa like Little Mushroom and The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low / The Hunter’s Gonna Live Quietly have already shown that there is an interest in such stories, and I believe Turning could become just like them.
